At Faber Orthodontics, we embrace technology, whether it’s through the innovative treatments Dr. Faber offers, our high-tech web site or our Facebook fan page. As you can probably tell, we love connecting with our patients online, whether it’s by sharing news on our blog or communicating ideas on our fan page. For social media to work, however, we understand that conversation is vital, and that’s why we invite you to join in and tell us what’s on your mind.
While Dr. Faber and our staff take a little time to research how to best use social media, we thought we’d ask you, our loyal patients: How would you like us to use our social networks? What would you like us to share on our blog? Please post your thoughts here or on our Facebook page!

Ask Dr. Faber: Why is it so important to have straight teeth?
Some people wonder why Tappahannock and Kilmarnock orthodontist Dr. Beth Faber and our team work tirelessly to give our patients straight teeth. Of course it’s nice to have a smile full of evenly aligned teeth, but did you know that straightening your teeth at Faber Orthodontics can keep them healthier? Straight teeth lead to better oral hygiene, increasing your chances of keeping your own natural teeth for a lifetime!
Straight teeth are less prone to decay, because they collect less plaque—the sticky colorless substance that forms on our teeth and leads to tooth decay; and they are easier to keep clean! Receiving orthodontic care is a personal choice; and at Faber Orthodontics, we like to keep your treatment personal by providing you with customized treatment plans, individual time spent with your orthodontist, and a smile that reflects who you are! We have been helping to create healthy, beautiful smiles in the community for over 23 years.
If you’re wondering whether your teeth might cause problems because they are out of alignment, please give us a call to set up a complimentary consultation. Dr. Faber can help you decide whether or not you will benefit from orthodontic treatment.

Meet Our Orthodontist
Dr. Beth treats both children and adults and with each treatment comes different rewards. In college, her advanced level psychology courses were in developmental psychology and in orthodontics she gets to participate in her young patients' development. Dr. Beth plays an active role, not only in developing their face and smile, but she also influences the development of their self-esteem. It is her pleasure to experience these young people as they mature into young adults while in treatment. Working with adult patients allows her to help them create a healthy bite and beautiful smile that they love to show off, as well as cultivating a personal relationship during this process. In both cases, seeing each patient finish treatment with a beautiful smile, with a healthy bite and seeing the pride and confidence that their new smile provides is the ultimate reward.
Dr. Beth's academic accolades started in high school. She was Salutatorian of the first graduating class of Trinity High School in Richmond, Va. She completed her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary where she graduated with a double major in Chemistry and Psychology. While in college, Dr. Beth was a competitive swimmer on the swim team and a member of the synchronized swim team. After college, she completed four years of dental school, graduating from the Medical College of Virginia. From there she chose to specialize in orthodontics and spent two years in advanced training in orthodontics. She received her Certificate and her Masters Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Detroit. For one year Dr. Beth was and associate in a two doctor practice in Toledo, Ohio. In 1986 she opened her own practice in Tappahannock, Virginia. Six years later she opened her second office in Kilmarnock, Virginia.
Dr. Beth enjoys reading and cooking. Nicholas Sparks is one of her favorite authors, but her membership in a monthly book club leads her to all kinds of literature. Cooking with her children and preparing their favorite dishes is her most special activity. Molasses cookies, brownies, meat balls are just a few of her specialties. As a member of Fairmont Christian Church, Dr. Beth is active in both a women's bible study and the Reflections of Him Sunday school class. Professionally she is actively involved in the national, regional, state and local orthodontic associations. Currently, Dr. Beth is one of only nine doctors who serve on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Orthodontist and she has been a requested speaker at several national meetings.
