Congrats to Leland, the 2010 Faber Scholarship award winner!

Leland MacHen, a Mathews High School graduate, is the 2010 Faber Scholarship award winner.

Leland will be matriculating at Drexel University in the fall. He is an incredibly gifted young man who was chosen from a field of impressive applicants from ten counties and twelve different high schools.

The Faber Scholarship is one of the most competitive in our area and certainly one of the more prestigious. Congratulations to Leland and our sincere best wishes to each of our contestants.

Take me out to the ballgame!

Lauren Self correctly guessed 365 peanuts in the jar and won a $40 gift card for the new Richmond Flying Squirrels baseball team. She and her family will be attending a game of their choice on Dr. Beth and they get to enjoy the Virginia peanuts as well.
